First off, I want to say happy holidays to all of you out there no matter what holidays you chose to observe. I think that often times the Christian holidays tend to over power many of the other holidays that are happening around this time of year, and I wanted to also extend my well wishes to all.
This time of year, I and a lot of people tend to do quite a bit of reflection, I think. This is often the time of year that I take restock of what is happening and where I want to try to go from here. Sometimes it is a personal goal, sometimes it is a family one, and often times it is a homeschooling related one. This year is no exception. I am looking into a public online school option for my oldest child in order to attempt to meet more of her personal needs. Not necessarily academic needs per se, but needs that she has for herself and her own wants and goals. Hey, I have them, so I guess she can, too. But, I am still "mom", so I have to help with the final choices in the changes that she and my younger child make. So, this is my compromise for the time being. I, traditionally, am not a fan of online public schools, but in this situation, I am thinking it may be a good option. So, there is change number one.
Change number two? Well, I guess it will just be the adjustment for myself and the younger child and how our typical school day will look and run without the older one involved. That may take a little adjusting, but it will come along.
We are finishing our last major home remodeling project and it is a goal of mine to not take on any more MAJOR ones. There will always be smaller ones and redecorating and such, but I am hoping that we can slow down after this one is over and enjoy the spaces that we call our home.
Another goal I have for myself is to find a comfortable place in my spirituality. I am a questioning person by nature and it extends deeply in this area. It, however, causes a lot of confusion and I would really like to find a place that I could just settle comfortably in this area as well and much like I want to relax and enjoy my home spaces, I want to find that place where I can relax and enjoy my spiritual spaces.
So, in this season of holidays, happiness and reflection, I wish you well and that you all are comfortable and happy and can also relax and just enjoy. Enjoy you, your family and friends, and be the wonderful person that you are. Happy Holidays to All!
